With two nominations at the 2025 Victoires de la musique awards, the dandy chic of the French music scene Alain Chamfort will be on hand to present his new album L'impermanence.

After L'Impermanence, Alain Chamfort will not record another album. And it is he who has decided this. It's not that he won't be composing or recording again. It's just that he won't be making any more albums. The culmination of a recording career that began just over 50 years ago, L'Impermanence is a major work. Profound. Poignant.

A performer somewhat in spite of himself, this exceptional composer has always inspired great songwriters through the decades. From Serge Gainsbourg to Pierre-Dominique Burgaud (whose songwriting here reaches new heights) and Jacques Duval (who makes an unexpected comeback with Tout s'arrange à la fin), we have every right to ask who "inspired the other"?

Alain Chamfort's new album is an act of courage, a thumbing of the nose at the times. For here, the slightest word, the slightest note, the slightest sound was not born...
