The Université temps libre is hosting a lecture by astrophysicist Danièle IMBAULT.
As it circles the Milky Way, our star the Sun brings with it a procession of 8 planets and their satellites, each of which is a world unto itself, as well as a multitude of comets and asteroids, which sometimes visit us... from afar, fortunately.
To understand this "solar system" and how it was formed, the largest telescopes are no longer enough... Since the 1960s, scientists have regularly sent space probes, which are becoming more and more powerful, to "visit" the planet.
What questions are planetologists asking? And what do we expect from the current voyages to the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, near-Earth asteroids or objects beyond Pluto?
Conference at 2.30pm in the amphitheatre of the Lycée Bel Air.
