Synopsis
While on holiday in Italy, Paula Alquist meets a charming pianist, Gregory Anton, who seduces her. They marry and Gregory offers Paula the chance to live in London in the house left to her by Paula's aunt, who was mysteriously murdered.
The couple live happily together, but little by little Paula falls prey to strange hallucinations, while her husband becomes cold and distant. Meanwhile, a Scotland Yard detective, who is in love with Paula, is re-examining the case of the old woman's obscure murder.
