The largest signposted walking trail in the Mervent-Vouvant forest.
This route will take you along the banks of the River Mère, up to the Pierre Brune plateau, the dam of the same name, Pierre Blanche (rock-climbing and lookout point), along Lake Mervent, up the steep valley of the Verreries stream, long occupied by hut-makers and glass-makers. Admire the Pont du Déluge in its mountain setting and return to Vouvant via the Poterne, as Saint Louis did one day in May 1242.
Departure point: in front of the Café Mélusine (toilet block), Place du Bail, Vouvant.
Signposts: yellow with 1 blue dot (anticlockwise)
Elevation gain: 238 m
