Paradisum examines the myth of rebirth after the silent immobility of a destroyed world. In this world, the body is the only means of communication, and movement is the only common language.
Certain creatures of idyllic existence are formed from the "life material" that surrounds them. This "material of life" oscillates and, thanks to its natural force, constantly changes shape and swirls.
It is through scenes of purification, birth, awakening and ritual that these creatures reach the Soul of the world, the "anima mundi".
Directed and choreographed by Bence Vági, this show combines the genres of contemporary dance and circus art. By exploring the new modes of expression of "circus-dance", it seeks the sublime language of movement that would express the anguish of humanity.
The visual, spectacular aspect of the performance is central to the dramatic and visual conception. Like bodies and gestures, it helps to create the ancient, ethereal atmosphere of the Renaissance. Like a rustling sea, the "material of life" sways in parallel with the performers and then covers the pure human beings like a leaf, or swims across the stage like a stingray, or whispers in the ears of the characters like a transcendental force.
