The Université temps libre invites you to a lecture by Dr Albert MOUKHEIBER, neuroscience researcher and clinical psychologist.
"We do not see the world as it is; rather, we are in the process of reconstructing and recreating representations of that world using our brains. However, these representations can be influenced by a number of internal and external factors that can 'bias' our reasoning, often without our knowledge. In this talk, we will attempt to shed light on the various factors and mechanisms that come into play when we acquire knowledge and make decisions. We will see why, for a reality that is supposed to be objective and common, we have very varied interpretations, with the advantages and disadvantages that this can cause. We will see how the world interacts with these effects, particularly social networks and fake news".
