On 6 and 7 September, the centre of L'Hermenault will be back to the atmosphere of an old-fashioned fair, as it has been every year for the last 28 years!

Saturday 6 September :
New: La Grande descente de la Foire, the very first soapbox race, will see the most intrepid drivers descend down the main street in their crazy cars. 11am - Free trials / 1pm - Start of the races / 7pm - Prize-giving ceremony
Fast food and refreshments at lunchtime.
From 7pm: Festive evening as a prelude to the next day's Fair: country-style meal (Parthenaise meat, chips, grills and burgers) and concert by the Light'up Orchestra in the Place du Marché.
At nightfall, torchlight procession and fireworks (courtesy of the town council).

Sunday 7 September:
The Fair opens at 9am.
Breeders, exhibitors and entertainment will take you back in time to the heart of a village fair.
From the market square to the Place de l'Elan, via the charmille, plunge back in time a few centuries: exhibition of old equipment, demonstrations of old trades, park of old breeds and lots of entertainment.
As for the Rue de la Gazellerie, the Rue du Commerce and the Grande Rue, they'll be filled with exhibitors, designers, craftsmen and producers who've come to liven up the fair!
The garage sale will be held in the rue du Commerce and Place de l'élan.
Refreshment bar and country-style meal (Parthenaise meat, chips, grills and burgers).
Agricultural competitions at the heart of the fair:
This year will once again see the traditional cattle competition organised by the Parthenaise breed union. The public will be able to discover the farms and attend this agricultural competition, a key event at the Fair. You'll also find the departmental goat competition with even more breeders, and for its 2nd edition, the national herding dog competition classes 1 and 2. What's new: in the competition field, local breeds will be given pride of place, with the presence for the very first time of the Marans hen brotherhood, Poitevin draught cattle and Vendée sheep.
Events not to be missed:
Once again this year, a grand parade will take to the streets of the Fair on 2 occasions, with the Réveil Fulgentais brass band among the performers. There will be plenty of other musical entertainment throughout the day.
