The house has had a number of different functions over the years: Hostellerie des Trois Rois until the 18th century, the first Maison du Département de la Vendée in 1792, then the home of sculptor Paul Jourdain.
Today, restored by the artist Pierre Debien and his wife Annick, it welcomes artists for temporary exhibitions under the name "La Maison des Troys Roys". This year, the association Les Rencontres Internationales Arts et Cultures is organising an exhibition entitled "LES VILLES D'ICI ET D'AILLEURS, D'HIER, D'AUJOURD'HUI, DEMAIN".
The exhibition features works by a host of contemporary artists from Vendée, France and abroad, including renowned Finnish artist Harri Larjosto.
