Discover the Hôtel de Grimoüard as part of the European Heritage Days!
The Hôtel de Grimoüard was built in 1741 for Chevalier Pierre-Marthe de Grimoüard, Seigneur de Guinefolle, using the basement of the previous residence, known as the Tête Noire or Écu de France. Following an agreement signed in 1804, the town acquired the mansion in 1807, using it to house the clergy of Notre-Dame and then, from 1824 to 1895, as the town hall.
The most remarkable features of this residence are the entrance hall, the open staircase and the two-storey vaulted cellars, which students from the Lycée Rabelais will be delighted to show you around.
