As part of the European Heritage Days, discover Usine Étoile: un combat des hommes et des formes, a new exhibition by photographer Philippe Reynaud.
A new exhibition by photographer Philippe Reynaud.
At the Usine Étoile, architecture isn't just something you see - it's something you feel. This former industrial site, now a place where "Art and Economy" go hand in hand, is hosting an exhibition as powerful as it is delicate, by photographer Philippe Reynaud, a black-and-white photographic face-off centred on the tauréo (the art of gesture and dress of the bullfighter).
Neither a tribute nor an indictment, just a look. An aesthetic, graphic, almost architectural look at this ancient ritual where tensions, movements, silences and outbursts meet. Here, bodies shape the space, gestures become structures, the arena a stage of contrasts. A mirror image of the Usine Étoile itself, made up of clean lines and inhabited shadows.
Two intertwining territories, centred on the beauty of the lyrical gesture, whether guided by the brush or the lens. Two approaches that question our relationship with gesture, material and emotion. Two worlds, the same intensity.
Visitors will have the opportunity to talk to the artist himself, who will be presenting his work after a first exhibition at the Galerie Gagosian in Paris.
Guided tours lasting between 1.00 and 1.30 hours. Price: €5 per person in aid of the Usine Étoile charity.
