4-person gîte (+ BB) in the bucolic Vendée countryside, 25 minutes from the Puy du Fou and 10 minutes from the medieval town of Vouvant, with its planetarium at La Chapelle aux Lys, 15 minutes or 1h15 from Les Sables d'Olonne and the Vendée Globe village, 45 minutes from the Marais Poitevin, 20 minutes from Fontenay le Comte, a Town of Arts and History and former capital of Bas Poitou. The village of Mouilleron is home to the lives of the famous figures CLEMENCEAU AND DE LATTRE DE TASSIGNY, with their own dedicated museums.

A historic house full of character where the astronomer Charles Louis LARGETEAU lived as a child and during his family holidays in the 1820s/1840s.
The first buildings date back to the 15th and 16th centuries, the golden age of the cloth merchants who settled in the LOING VALLEY and patronised the region's churches, in the flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance styles. This exceptionally well-preserved site remained intact during the Vendée Wars. The main building is a fortified house built during the Wars of Religion, and now "in its original state". The former bakehouse, well and barns complete this harmonious ensemble, witness to a rich history that saw Henry IV pass through.
