The gîte is 15 kms east of Fontenay-le-Comte, Capital of the Beautiful Spirits. Vouvant is only 45 kms from the Puy du Fou to the north and the Venise Verte to the south, and 75 kms from the Atlantic coast, La Rochelle and La Tranche-sur-Mer.
Not only is Vouvant listed as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France" and a "Small Town of Character", it is also a "Village in Bloom" and a "Village of Painters".
