Here, it's a bit of a climb. And frankly, it's worth it. From La Châtaigneraie, you change pace. The relief becomes more pronounced, the landscapes more undulating. The bocage reveals itself differently: more open, more contrasted. First stop: Cheffois. The old quarries are impressive. Rock faces overlooking a lake... an almost unexpected setting, raw and mineral. Then the landscape changes again. Softer, more plant-like. A stop at a nursery plunges you into the heart of a living, teeming world, where thousands of plants give the area a different face. Want to understand what you're driving through? Take a diversion to the Manoir des Sciences de Réaumur. It's a surprising place, full of scientific discoveries and constant curiosity. Then get back on the road, between hills and valleys, alternating between heritage and nature. The kilometres pass... and the final climb looms. At the top, Pouzauges awaits you. Perched on a hill, this Petite Cité de Caractère has to be earned. But once you're there, the view and the atmosphere are well worth the effort.
