Just a few pedal strokes and you're in a whole new world. Head for Faymoreau. Here, you're plunged into another era, a long way from the medieval ramparts. Welcome to a village with a mining past that is unique in the Vendée.
Corons, headframes, reconstructed galleries... The Faymoreau Mining Centre takes you deep into the bowels of the earth. It's a raw, striking experience, in stark contrast to the gentle landscapes you've travelled through so far.
Then you're back on the road.
The landscape opens up, the countryside undulates, and your route takes you towards La Chapelle-aux-Lys (Terval). Here, you're no longer looking at the ground... but at the sky.
In this village of the stars, take a seat under the planetarium dome for a timeless journey. An unexpected, almost cosmic break.
Back on your bike, the pace naturally slows.
You finish your journey on a former railway line, now transformed into a soft path. Everything is simpler, more fluid.
And soon, La Châtaigneraie comes into view.
A surprising stage, between industrial heritage, celestial escape and gentle return.
