By respecting these areas, you become an active guardian of their preservation.

Your adventure in detail

A life-size playground

Your quest begins in the heart of an exceptional area: the Marais Poitevin Regional Nature Park. A labyrinth of canals, wet meadows and landscapes shaped by man for centuries. Here, nature is not static. It lives, breathes and evolves.

But the adventure doesn’t stop there. All around you, sensitive natural areas await you. Discreet places, sometimes little-known, but incredibly rich.

Natural nuggets to discover

Head for the Rigole d’Aziré in Benet, where the water forms a peaceful landscape. Continue on to the Bois de la vieille Vaigue in Maillé, a woodland refuge ideal for birdwatching. Explore the Marais de Doix et Fontaines and the Rives de la Vendée, ecological corridors between marsh and plain.

Fancy a bit of height? Head for the Rocher de Cheffois or the Colline des Moulins in Mouilleron-Saint-Germain, perfect for taking a step back… literally and figuratively.

And then there’s the unmissable Mervent-Vouvant forest. The largest forest in the Vendée, it offers endless adventure for lovers of nature: La Balingue, Sauvaget, Crochet, Gachet, Lac de Mervent, Pierre Blanche, ruisseau des Verreries, Plateau de Pierre Brune, Le Chêne Tord… You can also set off from the medieval town of Vouvant and explore the Rives de La Mère.

Protected sanctuaries

The Marais communal du Poiré-sur-Velluire Regional Nature Reserve is a veritable paradise for birds and species associated with wetlands. Binoculars are a must here.

The Nalliers-Mouzeuil-Saint-Martin Departmental Biological Reserve plays an essential role in preserving sensitive natural environments.

Here, you’re not just a visitor. You’re an observer… almost a guest.

Adopt the soul of a guardian

Your mission is simple: observe without disturbing, enjoy without damaging.

Stay on the paths, respect the wildlife, avoid noise… Simple gestures that keep these areas alive. And then there’s that moment. The moment when you stop. When you listen. When you realise that you’re exactly where you belong.

Welcome to your role as nature guardian.
