Your adventure in detail

Weigh anchor on an iconic lake!

Looking for a playground with no limits? Freshwater sailors with a zest for grandeur will love the activities on Lac de Mervent! This 130-hectare lake in the heart of the Mervent-Vouvant forest is sure to delight exploration enthusiasts of all kinds.

For the record, it was created in 1956 when a dam was built on the River Vendée to supply the surrounding towns with drinking water. Today, lifelong adventurers love it for its wooded meanders, peaceful coves, panoramic views of the Vieux Château de Mervent and rocky cliffs. In short, a little corner of paradise to explore from the Base de Loisirs de Mervent, by kayak, paddle, canoe… or electric boat!

Hoist the mainsail with the family

Who said you had to have nautical skills to be able to sail? Certainly not us! If you want to feel like Captain Haddock, there’s nothing like taking to the water on Lac de Mervent in an electric boat without a licence.

After a little ice cream by the lake, choose your boat, which can accommodate up to 7 people. A quick briefing later, and you’re already on the water, cruising wherever you please. Easy to manoeuvre and totally silent, your boat lets you explore the meandering lake, cruise along the wooded banks and even enjoy a picnic on the water.

For 30 minutes, 1 hour or 1h30, you choose your adventure. It’s as simple as that.

Opt for a boat that respects nature

The mantra of a family of adventurers? Taking care of nature, of course! And to do that, the electric boat option ticks all the boxes.

That’s right, because the aim at Lac de Mervent is to strike a balance between leisure activities and environmental protection. With an electric boat, the sailors of a day are as free as the air in the water without disturbing the local fauna. Noise and pollution are reduced, adventurers are made aware of the fragility of aquatic environments and soft mobility is promoted. In short, the perfect solution for nature lovers!
