Your adventure in detail

History with a capital H: activate the time machine at the Puy du Fou shows!

Is it an amusement park? A theme park? Neither, my captain! The magic of Le Puy du Fou lies in the fact that it is one of a kind. Voted “Best theme park in the world” on several occasions (we had to find a category for it after all), this unique hybrid site in the Vendée awaits you for a memorable epic!

The concept behind Le Puy du Fou is to get the time machine moving: immersive shows take you on a year-round journey through the history and legends of France. With its larger-than-life sets, passionate actors (both human and animal) and special effects worthy of cinema blockbusters, you can expect to be amazed!

Witness a chariot race in a Roman arena, discover the epic battle of the 3 Musketeers, walk through the trenches of the Battle of Verdun, admire a ballet of birds overhead or escape an invasion by the Vikings… Whatever their age, visitors to the park are unanimous: you’ll soon forget which century you’ve come to Puy du Fou from!

An endless show: extend your journey through history in the park!

The advantage of the Puy du Fou shows is that they take place several times a day. So budding heroes and historians have plenty of time to explore the rest of the park. That’s right, because in the Vendée, the art of entertainment isn’t confined to the stage!

While you’re waiting for the next show, take the time to wander around the villages of the Puy du Fou. Explore the fortified enclosure of Fort-Rognon, to travel back to the Middle Ages; wander through Chasseloup to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the XVIIIᵉ century or go right back to the year 1000 with the Vikings of Saint-Philbert-le-Vieil!

On site, craftsmen apply themselves to reproducing age-old gestures. A cooper, a master glassmaker, an imaginary scribe, a saddler, a ceramist, a woodturner, a blacksmith… There’s joy everywhere for Puy du Fou spectators!

Animal lovers and future carers will also find something to suit them at Le Puy du Fou! As well as the animals on show (with a special mention for the Ballet des Oiseaux Fantômes), the park also has several conservation programmes. Here, the Baudet du Poitou, the Oouette de l’Oural, the Cochon de Bayeux and the Grand Condor live happily amongst the visitors!

La Cinéscénie: take in the sights (literally) during the Puy du Fou night-time show!

It’s won so many awards, you can’t even count them! La Cinéscénie is undoubtedly the most famous show at the Puy du Fou, and also the most sensational. 1h30 of performances, 2,550 actors, 28,000 costumes, a 23-hectare stage (yes, it’s possible)… Welcome to the biggest night-time show in the world!

As night falls, take a seat on the bleachers alongside the other spectators and admire the scene before you: a lake, a castle, lights, music… The atmosphere is set.

Shhhh, the Cinescénie is on! In the company of Jacques Maupillier, let yourself be told the story of 7 centuries of French History. From knights’ tournaments to the Second World War and the French Revolution, everything unfolds before you with incredible magic! 3D mapping, special effects, animal actors, light and water effects… There’s so much to see that you won’t know where to turn! So, should we book the next show?
