The workshops and art galleries are spread throughout the region: Fontenay-le-Comte, Vouvant, Le Marais Poitevin, Pays de La Châtaigneraie and Mervent. Some are free to visit, others by appointment. Our interactive map will help you locate the artisans near to where you are staying.

A selection of creations is also on sale in the Tourist Office shop.

Yes, a number of craftspeople are opening their doors to showcase their skills in ceramics, wood, metal, soap-making, textiles, illustration, etc. Some are also offering demonstrations, workshops or introductory courses. Details of how to visit – times, booking, prices – are given on each page.

Here, you’ll find a wide range of creations: ceramics, sculpture, painting, leather goods, jewellery, engraving, glass, mosaics, enamel, hand-crafted cutlery, metalwork, hand-made soaps, as well as hand-made furniture. Buying local means taking home a unique piece and supporting the know-how of the Vendée.
