A pupil of Saint-Saëns and Gustave Lefèvre at the École Niedermeyer, he initially served as choirmaster at the Église de la Madeleine in Paris. He was Ravel’s teacher. Requiem aeternam (Pavane for a Dead Princess) • Guy Ropartz was a French composer, born in Guingamp on 15 June 1864 and died in Lanloup on 22 November 1955.
