Description
Concert organised by the Le Camembert association
An extraordinary artist, a resident of the Vendée by choice, Brazilian at heart, an adventurer of words,
images and sound, Pierre Barouh (1934–2016) was a ‘wanderer’.
Over more than sixty years of encounters and creative work, as his travels took him, he scattered his rhymes and penned over 200 songs (including several international hits), amongst which were: ‘Un homme et une femme’, ‘Des ronds dans l’eau’, ‘A bicyclette’ and ‘Samba Saravah’.
He also directed his own films (around twenty feature-length fiction films and documentaries), whilst discovering and supporting a host of artists (including Brigitte Fontaine, Jacques Higelin and Maurane, amongst others...) through his independent record label Saravah, founded in 1966.
