Description

Concert organised by the Le Camembert association
Last year, the adaptation of the story ‘Bourricot Blues and the Musicians of New Orleans’ was a resounding success. The Le Camembert association was keen to organise another ‘Jazz Moment’, a musical storytelling session for the whole family on the public holiday of 11 November. Led by storyteller Isabelle Baudouin, a number of musicians from the Le Camembert association, along with the music school’s jazz workshop, invite you to come and discover *Novecento*, the story of the pianist of the ocean! Isabelle will bring Alessandro Baricco’s book to life, accompanied by music and dance, in an original and surprising production. Novecento, the Pianist of the Ocean. Imagine a cruise ship, its jazz band and its pianist – the greatest pianist in the world. Born on board and adopted by a member of the crew, Novecento has never set foot on dry land. He prefers the sea and the passengers, who tell him of cities and landscapes from all over the world. He spends his life on the Atlantic, his hands resting on a piano, composing strange and magnificent music that belongs only to him: the music of the Ocean. This poignant tale recounts the fate of a free and talented man. Music, passion, jazz and the quest for freedom: these are the notes that make up this magnificent story.
