> FIREWORKS DISPLAY CANCELLED Due to the high risk of fire caused by the weather conditions over the past few weeks, the Town of Fontenay-le-Comte has decided not to hold the traditional 14 July fireworks display. This decision was taken by the local authority as a responsible measure to ensure everyone’s safety, to protect our environment and to avoid placing further strain on the fire service, as well as the emergency and health services, which have already been under considerable pressure in recent days dealing with large-scale fires. The Town would like to extend its sincerest thanks to the fire service for their unwavering commitment and dedication to serving the public.
