Enquiries on 02 51 69 17 75 or at [email protected] The château was built around 1590 by Nicolas Rapin, Grand Provost of the Constable of France and a companion of Henry IV. In the 19th century, Octave de Rochebrune, the château’s owner, an art lover and renowned etcher, embellished Terre-Neuve with Renaissance architectural features, which have thus been preserved. As the château is privately owned and inhabited all year round, the interior can only be visited as part of a guided tour. You can also explore the museum at your own pace, where an exhibition traces the history of the site with a focus on its key figures. For a more comfortable visit, we recommend visiting on a Saturday, as it tends to be busier and queues are longer on Sundays.
