Description
An event organised as part of the European Heritage Days by the ‘Ville d’art et d’histoire’ department of Fontenay-le-Comte.
From the 16th century onwards, Fontenay-le-Comte, a Renaissance town, became a major centre of the Reformation thanks to the dynamism of its merchants and craftsmen.
Built around 1825, the Protestant church bears witness to this history and to the deep roots of Protestantism in the department. During their visit, visitors will also be able to discover Stéphanie Lecomte’s painting exhibition ‘Lumières ou Lumière?’, which resonates with the peaceful and inspiring atmosphere of the venue.
Saturday at 6.00 pm: Musical interlude at the church
To mark this special opening of the church, let yourself be carried away by the sounds of the harp and cello during a concert given by Victor Rager and Marie-Lou Guedon.
