As you wander through the village, the legend of the fairy Melusine comes to life. Narrow streets, ramparts, the church, the castle ruins… each place becomes the setting for an episode in the tale.
From mysterious builder to betrayed snake-woman: as the story unfolds, the heritage sheds light on the legend, and the legend gives new meaning to the stones.
One can imagine the lost fortress, life in the town, its hours of glory and its darkest moments. The visible traces interact with the fantastical.
An immersive tour, at the crossroads of reality and imagination, to understand how the legend of Melusine continues to shape Vouvant’s identity.
Each ticket includes a self-guided tour of the Mélusine Tower. Walk through the two rooms of the keep before reaching the top: at a height of 36 metres, the panoramic view opens out over Vouvant and its surroundings.
