Description

As part of the Camembert Jazz Festival
In the early 1960s, Pierre Barouh was the first to introduce bossa nova to France. Following the exhibition ‘Les petits papiers de Pierre Barouh’ in June 2026, the Le Camembert association invites you to immerse yourself in the heart of Brazilian samba and bossa nova with its documentary film made in 1969. Whether in the studio or sitting at a table on a restaurant terrace, the film offers you a front-row seat alongside those who shaped these musical genres, as if you were right there with them. Through engaging conversations, Pierre Barouh seeks to understand the roots of samba and its links with jazz. This cinematic gem features a wealth of songs. Get up close and personal with some of the leading figures in Brazilian music, a genre that has conquered the world with its rich harmonies and subtle melodies.
