HIKE CANCELLED.
Due to a prefectural order classifying the fire risk as ‘high’ under the measures for forest fire prevention and the protection of forests against fire, the Merventaise walk scheduled for Sunday 21 June in Mervent has been cancelled.
See you at the Jean Louis Ripaud hall for the 29th edition.
The routes on offer:
► New this year: 3 walking trails with puzzles: 8, 14 and 20 km
► Mountain biking: 30, 45 and 65 km
On-the-spot registration:
► From 7.30 am to 10.30 am
► Card payments accepted.
Start times:
► Open start from 7.30 am to 10.30 am
► /!\ Please note: no starts after 9.30 am for the 65 km mountain bike route and the 20 km walking route.
Facilities:
► Refreshment stations are provided on all routes
► Routes can be downloaded onto your mobile phones
► A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the charity “Unissons-nous pour Esteban”
The Mervent-Vouvant State Forest
Covering 5,000 hectares, this is the largest forest in the Vendée, characterised by steep-sided valleys.
Today, the state-owned forest is managed by the National Forestry Office. This environment is fragile. It is important for everyone to protect and respect it.
RULES FOR THE MERVENTAISE HIKE
1 – The Merventaise hike is open to all, at your own pace.
2 – Each participant must be covered by their licence or a third-party liability insurance policy; the organisers accept no liability in the event of an accident.
3 – Observe the Highway Code and all prefectural, local or private signage; wearing a helmet is compulsory for mountain bikers.
4 - Minors take part under the responsibility of their parents (see the compulsory parental consent form to be completed upon registration)
5 – Each participant is responsible for their own equipment; the organisers accept no liability in the event of loss or theft.
6 – Please be courteous and respect the environment.
