He digs himself out. He fights, struggles, forgets, even sinks.
But he lives with it.
And sometimes, in this confusion, everything becomes clear.
The sculpture is born, springs forth. The artist lets himself be guided. He lets himself be inspired.
There is no longer any question of finding meaning, reason, questioning or doubts.
The connection is made. It's simple.
In his creative moments, Richard Métais sees himself as an intermediary.
He is carried along by these pieces of iron that already have a soul.
The shapes and materials impose themselves.
The articulations of life, of accumulated intuitions are made.
