A traditional house situated in the small village of Denant in the commune of Nieul-sur-l’Autise, completely renovated in 2021 with a modern interior whilst retaining its old-world charm. CYCLISTS WELCOME: You’re welcome here – you, your bike, your panniers… We’re situated on the ‘Vendée Vélo Tour’ route. We can advise you on routes to follow depending on your preferences, and we have a locked, secure storage room for your equipment. You’ll be able to wash your bike. We provide a full repair kit for minor issues: puncture repair kit, standard set of spanners, lubricant and a foot pump. If needed, we’ll direct you to the nearest bike repair shop. FOR YOUR COMFORT, THE BEDS ARE MADE UP ON ARRIVAL (SHEETS INCLUDED) You can walk to the banks of the Autise for a spot of fishing or head to the village of Nieul, 2 km away. Nieul-sur-l’Autise, a charming little town: wander through its picturesque narrow streets lined with beautiful stone buildings, its mill and, of course, its royal abbey. Keen cyclists can explore the Vendée cycle route, which passes right by the gîte. The Mervent-Vouvant forest, 15 km away, offers a wide range of activities: a family day out at the zoo, a leisure centre, hiking, rock climbing, and more. On the edge of the Marais Poitevin wetlands, why not treat yourself to a boat trip along the canals of the ‘Green Venice’? Maillezais jetty, 10 km away.
